NUSTAR Resort Cebu recently concluded its highly anticipated Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, which took place throughout September, culminating in special events on September 14 and 17, 2024. Held at The Atrium, the festival was a vibrant celebration of Chinese heritage, tradition, and artistry.
From September 1 to 30, guests are invited to capture their Mid-Autumn memories at the festival’s exclusive Photo Lounge. This beautifully designed space provided the perfect backdrop for patrons to commemorate the occasion, with colorful lanterns and a charming bridge that transported visitors on a symbolic journey to China.

The main festivities kicked off on September 14 with a Mooncake Painting activity, where participants of all ages participated in creative expression. Following this, attendees were serenaded by the enchanting voices of a children’s choir during Lunar Lullabies, a one-hour showcase of heartwarming melodies that brought smiles to all in attendance.
On September 17, the festival continued with another afternoon of artistry, featuring both a mooncake painting activity and a Chinese calligraphy workshop. Guests had the chance to explore traditional Chinese calligraphy, further embracing the cultural richness of the event.
The day culminated in a spectacular evening event called Moonlit Symphony, which featured captivating performances under the stars. NUSTAR’s Senior Vice President in Gaming and Integrated Resort Operations, Trevor Hammond, welcomed guests with a warm address, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

“This evening is not just about festivities but about community and connection. We are delighted to share with you our curated selection of mooncakes, a time-honored tradition that represents unity, prosperity, and the joy of reunion. As we gather under the luminous light of the full moon, let it remind us of the bright and limitless possibilities ahead—possibilities that we at NUSTAR strive to bring to life through unforgettable experiences,” Trevor said.
A mesmerizing musical performance followed, enchanting the audience with its cultural significance and elegance. The evening concluded with remarks by Elizabeth Gan-Go, Vice Chairperson of the Sugbu Chinese Heritage Museum, expressing the impact of preserving cultural heritage in strengthening family bonds and communities.
“In every shared moment [of] celebrating the festival, we [have seen] the essence of this celebration, [which is] the reunion of families and communities coming together to feast and give thanks to our heritage with a renewed sense of unity,” she said.

In the spirit of unity and tradition, the festival closed with the ceremonial sharing of mooncakes, a symbol of togetherness, prosperity, and gratitude.
NUSTAR Resort Cebu was honored to serve as the official venue partner for this event, made possible by the generous support of the Universal Cultural Foundation, Inc. (UCFI) and in partnership with the Sugbu Chinese Heritage Museum. The Mid-Autumn Festival was a true celebration of culture, creativity, and community, leaving guests with lasting memories of tradition and joy.
