Osmeña to rescind multi-billion peso SRP sale

Incoming Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña said he will rescind the sale of the 45.2 hectare lot at the South Road Properties to Ayala, SM and Filinvest, citing what he described as dubious circumstances. Ayalaland, Cebu Holdings and SM Prime Holdings won after bidding P10 billion for a 26.3 hectare property, while Filinvest Land Inc. was the highest bidder at P6.7 billion for a 19.2 hectare property.
Osmena cited three points on why the sale is dubious and said he will have a referendum to let the people decide on the SRP.
One, monopoly; there’s a monopoly in this case kay nagsabot sila ang bidder kada property. Second, discretion; the bidder can dictate what amount, what exact location and third; there’s lack of transparency, they amend the ordinance and the resolution. Tomas Osmena.

Comelec urges ‘social-media’ complainants to file formal affidavits
AFTER allegations of cheating surfaced over social media last Monday, Comelec Region 7 director Jose Nick Mendros is urging those who posted to execute formal complaints. One of the most controversial complaints is a statement by a certain Erna Uy, who said she was paid P20,000 to manipulate the vote-counting machines in favor of Tomas OSmena.
I am challenging her to talk and tell whoever the names, specify the facts and never allege without proving. You’re damaging the image of people who have been doing their job. They have the right to question the validity of the result, but never in the court of public opinion. File a protest, so that the court will be given the opportunity to examine each ballot. Wag mo gawin ang protest mo sa Media. Comelec 7 Director Jose Nick Mendros.
