Starting last January 11 and until the Sinulog grand parade on Sunday, January 17, people will be able to connect to free WiFi with a 1Gbps bandwidth along the Sinulog route and in the Cebu City Sports Center Grandstand.
The 1Gbps free WiFi coverage will extend until the International Eucharistic Congress (IEC) from January 24 to 31.
PLDT has installed 18 access points along the Sinulog grand parade route and the grandstand, said PLDT Assistant Vice President and PLDT Cebu Business Zone head Bong Lintag.
Lintag said the free WiFi coverage they set up is part of the telco’s assistance to Cebu’s holding of the Sinulog festival and the IEC. During the IEC, the free WiFi coverage will extend to the IEC pavilion.
The free public WiFi coverage is on top of other forms of connectivity assistance such as voice lines for Sinulog offices and IEC committees.
