QBE recently took part in the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2025 in Cebu, with over 290 employee volunteers helping prepare classrooms at Bagong Lipunan Elementary School and Zapatera Elementary School ahead of the new school year.

The initiative was led by Team Verde, QBE Philippines’ employee-driven sustainability network, and organized through the QBE Foundation in the Philippines. Volunteers from across the organization came together to clean classrooms, paint walls and chairs, and cover books.

Senior leaders of the company also joined the Cebu-based employees during the activity, highlighting the company’s emphasis on hands-on participation and community engagement at all levels.

Over the years, the QBE Foundation has supported its adopted schools in Cebu not only during Brigada Eskwela, but also through longer-term efforts such as enhancing school facilities, providing learning and teaching materials, and running a school-day nutrition program to support student health.

This year’s activity was conducted in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), a long-standing collaborator in QBE Foundation’s community programs.

QBE is a global insurance company headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Its Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Cebu and Manila provides operational and support services for QBE’s global operations. As part of its broader business strategy, QBE integrates sustainability into its operations through workplace programs, environmental initiatives, and local community engagement through the QBE Foundation.
